Women try to chase alleged thief after hotel room break-in
Three women tried to chase a man who took cash and electronic devices from their hotel room, but the alleged thief got away, according to Myrtle Beach police.
Police were called about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to a hotel at 104 N. Ocean Blvd. where a 29-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman, and a 27-year-old woman reported the incident, authorities said.
The victims told police they were all staying in the room when the alleged a man took their cash and devices. The suspect was seen on surveillance footage knocking on the door several times and then pushing the door open, police said.
The victim’s came back to the room and found the suspect inside and yelled at him. The suspect then ran out through the backdoor and jumped the balcony and headed toward the beach, according to the report.
The victims ran around the building in an attempt to chase the suspect, but he got away, police said.
The victims said $400 and two tablet devices were.
