Man reports car was stolen outside restaurant

A man reported to Myrtle Beach police that his car was stolen after he left it running to pick up a delivery for work, according to a police report.

Officers responded about 9:30 p.m. Monday to China Garden at 3570 North Gate Rd. where a 34-year-old victim reported the incident, authorities said.

The victim told police he was parked outside of the restaurant, which is his employer, and he went inside to pick up an order to take out for delivery. The victim said he left his car running and when he came back, his car was missing, police said.

The victim’s car was described as a 1993 teal and black Subaru in the police report. Authorities searched the surrounding area after the report, but did not find the car, authorities said.

The car was not reported found as of Tuesday morning.
