Myrtle Beach area woman charged with attempted murder in boyfriend’s stabbing
A Myrtle Beach area woman remained jailed Monday afternoon on $10,000 bond after Horry County police charged her in connection with a man being stabbed following an argument about a dog, according to authorities.
Harley Madison Watts, 19, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 2 p.m. Saturday on a charge of attempted murder, according to jail records.
Horry County police Lt. Raul Denis said that officers were called about 11:30 a.m. Saturday to Leonard Loop in the Socastee community for a stabbing. Officers found a 24-year-old man on the sidewalk in front of the home with a stab wound.
Witnesses reported that Watts stabbed the man, who was her boyfriend, during an argument that actually began Friday, but continued Saturday morning, according to a police report. Witnesses said police were called Friday night during that argument and that the couple broke things inside the home.
Watts ran from the house after the incident and police found her hiding in some nearby woods and she was arrested, Denis said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
