Alleged burglar broke in through skylight at law office, took drill and left T-shirt
Myrtle Beach police responded to a call about a burglary at a law office where authorities believe the alleged burglar broke in through a skylight in the roof, took a drill, and left a lime-green T-shirt behind, according to a police report.
Officers were called about 11 p.m. Thursday to a law office on the 800 block of North Oak Street where a 33-year-old victim reported the incident, authorities said.
Police said all doors were locked when they arrived, but noticed that a skylight in a back room had been busted and determined the alleged burglar must have entered and exited through it.
The victim told police the only item missing was his Hitachi hammer drill. Authorities noticed a medium-sized, lime-green T-shirt in the back room and noted it as evidence, police said.
Authorities said they saw shoe prints on a condenser unit behind the building and determined that the alleged suspect must have climbed on it to reach the skylight on the roof.
Police took pictures of the shoe prints and dusted for fingerprints at the scene, according to the report.
Authorities had not made any arrests in connection with the incident as of Saturday morning.
