Tip leads to arrest of suspect in fatal hit-and-run
A tip led to the arrest of a driver accused of killing a pedestrian and wounding another in an early morning hit-and-run Oct. 13 on U.S. Highway 501 near Lake Busbee in Conway.
Katelyn Delea Harris, 29, was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Thursday in connection with the hit-and-run, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Sonny Collins.
Harris’ charges have not yet been listed.
The driver involved was traveling south on U.S. 501 when the motorist hit two people in the roadway then fled the scene, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
A female pedestrian was injured and taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Jones.

Thirty-seven-year-old Frank Jezierski of Myrtle Beach died in the collision, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden.
But little was known of the driver at the time of the crash.
SCHP released a flier seeking information about a suspect truck captured on surveillance footage fleeing the scene.
Collins says a tip from someone, who saw the flier, led to Harris’ arrest.
The SCHP Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate the crash.
