Men work together to steal baby clothes from Broadway at the Beach store, cops say
Two men worked together to shoplift about $115 worth of baby cloths from a Broadway at the Beach store late Monday afternoon, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.
Officers were called about 5:40 p.m. to Sparkle on Celebrity Circle in reference to the theft, the report states.
Police spoke with a 21-year-old female store employee who told officers the incident happened about 30 minutes before they arrived.
She said the two men came into the store, one in a pink shirt and one in a gray shirt. She said the man in the pink shirt talked to her, trying to keep her distracted as the other suspect stuffed an infant outfit into a large bag the pair brought with them, the report says.
She told police she didn’t see which of the suspects took an additional two infant outfits, valued at a total of $70.
She said the suspects then left, and she couldn’t follow after them because she had a customer in the store, but did see them get into a white Ford F150 truck, according to the report.
