Myrtle Beach police arrested a man in connection with criminal domestic violence after police said he fought with a woman because she turned on a light when he wanted to go to bed.

Michael Francis Ferrusi, 52, was taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail and charged with criminal domestic violence, according to a police report.

Police were called about a disturbance at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at a hotel at 1207 S. Ocean Blvd., and a 41-year-old woman reported the incident when they arrived, authorities said.

The victim told police she and Ferrusi started arguing when she turned on the light, and he became upset because he said he had to be up early for work, authorities said.

The victim said Ferrusi then hit her with his fists and pushed her down, according to the report.

Police said the victim did have scratches and redness that were consistent with her story.

Ferrusi told police he did not touch the victim, but said they did argue over the victim turning the light on, authorities said.
