Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office deputies are asking for the community’s help in finding the person who took a banana boat from a restaurant.

Police were called about 3:30 p.m. March 17 to the Dead Dog Saloon in Murrells Inlet where a banana boat was being stolen, according to a Facebook post by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

The Shark Eight banana boat was tied to the dock behind the business when it was taken, police said.

Georgetown authorities found the banana boat March 28 at a restaurant on U.S. 17 Business.

Authorities reviewed surveillance footage and said a Ford Explorer was seen returning the missing boat, and police are now trying to identify the man driving the Explorer.

Anyone with information about the individual or has any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at 546-5101.
