One dead, one wanted after Georgetown shooting
Georgetown County authorities are searching for a suspect after a fatal shooting occurred Tuesday night.
The shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. on Alex Alford Drive in Georgetown. One victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but later died, according to Georgetown police.
Tory Thomas, 27, of Front Street in Georgetown died from being shot, Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson said. Thomas was pronounced dead of his injuries at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday while being treated in the Georgetown Hospital emergency room.
An autopsy is set for Wednesday at the Medical University of South Carolina and the results will be released pending the completion of the investigation, Johnson said.
