She bought furniture at a yard sale. When she came back for it, she was staring at a gun
A woman told police she stopped by a yard sale before heading to work Saturday and purchased $600 in furniture, but when she returned to collect the items after work a man pulled a gun on her.
Myrtle Beach police were called to an apartment at 520 32nd Ave. N. around 6:20 p.m. for a weapon law violation, according to an incident report.
A 43-year-old woman outside the apartments told police she paid a woman for the furniture earlier in the day and told her she would be back after work to pick up the items.
When she returned to the apartments, the furniture was no longer outside and knocks on the seller’s door went unanswered, the woman told police in the report. So she staked out the apartments, waiting for the seller to come outside, she said.
Then, a black Nissan Altima pulled into the parking lot and a man from the car went inside the apartment, prompting the buyer to return to knock on the door again, according to the report. But as she confronted the woman inside the apartment, the man pointed a silver handgun at her, the buyer told police.
No shots were reportedly fired.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and attempts to make further contact with the woman in the apartment failed, according to the report.
