More information released in Conway man’s fatal motorcycle crash
A Conway man died Friday after his motorcycle crashed into a cable media on S.C. 22 near S.C. 319 in Horry County, authorities said.
Richard Matthews, 55, was pronounced dead 7:17 p.m. Friday at Grand Strand Medical Center where he was taken following the crash, Horry County Chief Deputy Tamara Willard said.
The crash was reported at 4:55 p.m. Friday on S.C. 22 near S.C. 319, said Lance Cpl. Hannah Wimberly with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Matthews was traveling west on S.C. 22 when his 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle went off the left side of the road and struck the cable barrier median, Wimberly said. Troopers are investigating the crash.
