Two women arrested after fight in Myrtle Beach about empty liquor bottle

Two women were arrested in Myrtle Beach during the weekend after a stabbing attempt during an argument about an empty liquor bottle, according to a police report.

Candice Jean Lewis, 32, was charged with third-degree assault and battery and trespassing while Lisa Marie Owens, 45, was charged with second-degree assault and battery and disorderly conduct, according to police records.

Officers were called about 7 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of Chester Street for a disturbance, police said. Officers learned the women argued and fought with a 54-year-old woman over a consumed liquor bottle.

The victim told officers that Owens charged at her with a steak knife and tried to stab her with it, according to the report. Witnesses were able to stop Owens, subdue her and take the knife.

Witnesses also told police that Lewis assaulted the victim during the fight, according to the report.
