Teen reports being assaulted during robbery attempt in Myrtle Beach
A 19-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police he was punched in the face three times after he showed three men he didn’t have any cash during a robbery attempt, according to a police report.
The victim called officers at 6 a.m. Saturday to the area of Fifth Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard to report the robbery, police said.
The victim said he was walking north on the Boardwalk when three men with dark masks approached him and said “give me what you got,” according to the report. The victim said he pulled out his wallet to show the robbers he didn’t have any money.
The victim said one man punched him three times in the face and the victim fell to the ground, according to the report. The victim said the robbers then ran away.
The victim suffered a cut to his mouth and police noted he was intoxicated, according to the report. A nearby couple told police they saw three men running from the area.
