He came home to find a broken window and a ransacked house. Police are investigating.
A man told police he came home Saturday evening to find a shattered window and a ransacked house, robbed of cash and old tools.
The 63-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police that he left his home on Highway 15 at 3:45 p.m. Saturday to go out with friends. When he returned less than two hours later, “he observed his kitchen window had been shattered,” according to an investigation report.
“Upon entering the home, I observed the mattresses of both rooms were moved and all the belongings appeared to have been rummaged through,” Officer A.F. Raa-Schaefer noted in his report.
The man told police that he was missing $360 in cash that he kept in a coffee can in a night stand as “well as numerous old tools,” the report stated. The tools were listed as “old hammers and screwdrivers” in the report.
The incident remains under investigation.
