A Surfside Beach man was arrested Friday after police reportedly found more than 22 grams of heroin, meth and a used crack pipe in his car.

Christopher Bellows, 39, was charged in connection with two counts of trafficking heroin, online jail records show.

Myrtle Beach police and agents from the Drug Enforcement Unit and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division responded to 200 Myrtle Street around 3:30 p.m. in reference to a narcotics call, according to an incident report.

The agents said when they initially tried to make contact with Bellows, an unidentified man jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene.

After they approached Bellows, one agent reportedly saw a “used crack pipe” on the front seat floor board, the report says.

Once consent was given to search Bellows’ car, officers found 81 wax strips containing a “tan powder substance” and one clear plastic bag also containing a tan powder substance.

Officers note in the report that both of the tan powder substances field tested positive for heroin and weighed approximately 22.1 grams.

Four clear plastic bags containing a “crystal rock like substance” were also found, which field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 3.8 grams, according to the report.

Bellows remains in jail as of Sunday morning, and his bond is set at $50,000, online jail records show.
