Woman detained after shots fired near Myrtle Beach hotel
Myrtle Beach police found shell casings near 16th Avenue South and Yaupon Drive where witnesses reported hearing gunfire at 6:05 p.m. Saturday.
Officers said they responded to the area for a call of shots fired and found seven shell casings in the roadway in front of the Landmark Resort parking garage.
Multiple people in the area heard the shots and witnessed two vehicles take off from the location, according to an incident report.
A vehicle matching the description of one of the suspect cars “came towards officers on 16th Avenue South heading westbound,” the report stated. Police said they conducted a traffic stop after the car made a u-turn and headed back towards Ocean Boulevard.
Officers said they found a shell casing in the back of the car that matched the description of several casings found earlier. Police transported the car’s driver and sole occupant to the station for interviews, according to the report.
No charges had been filed against the driver as of Sunday afternoon. The incident remains under investigation.
