Police respond to attempted murder in Loris

A 31-year-old man was shot the night before Christmas Eve in the Loris area.

Horry County police responded about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 to the 300 block of North 701 in reference to a shooting, according to a police report.

The victim told arriving officers he had been shot and needed EMS, the report states. He was taken to the hospital while police roped off the area with crime scene tape and began investigating.

Officers noticed a nearby vehicle with a bullet hole.
