Police investigating two armed robberies at Dollar General stores
Three men are in custody and police continue to hunt for two others after two Dollar General stores were reportedly robbed by gunmen in Horry County within the span of two hours Saturday night.
Horry County police were called to an armed robbery at the Dollar General store at 4769 U.S. 501 in the Carolina Forest area of the county around 7:15 p.m. Employees reported that two men entered the store, asked for cigarettes, then showed a gun and robbed the store, according to Lt. Raul Denis of the Horry County Police Department.
No injuries were reported during the robbery.
Both men are described as bearded black males; one wearing blue jeans, a brown jacket and camouflage pants, and the other wearing blue jeans with a white sweater or sweat shirt and a blue NY hat, Denis said.
Anyone with information about the robbery or suspects is asked to contact HCPD on the department’s tip line at 843-915-8477 (915-TIPS).
Two hours later, around 9:15 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery call at the Dollar General store at 2140 S.C. 905 in Conway.
Three men approached a man sitting in a parked vehicle and forced the man to approach the locked store door, at gunpoint, and ask the employees inside to open it, Denis said.
One of the employees opened the door and the suspects entered, immediately pointing guns and demanding money, Denis added. The men left the store and were spotted on S.C. 905 by an HCPD officer who initiated a traffic stop.
The suspects threw the money out of the car window before they were arrested, but it was recovered and returned, according to Denis.
Twenty-one-year-old Jarrell Lorenzo James, 21-year-old Carl Tyshun Malik Jordan and 21-year-old Malik Nasheem Sherman, all of Conway, are charged with kidnapping, armed robbery and possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Sherman was also charged with possession of cocaine.
