Georgetown County police search for ice cream shop robbery suspect
The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery at Twisters Ice Cream in Murrells Inlet.
Police were called at 5:26 p.m. Wednesday to Twister’s, 3068 U.S. 17 Bypass, where they say one man approached an employee on shift from behind and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police are looking for a white male wearing black shoes, a dark ball cap and who has a deep voice. The victim stated she never saw a weapon and was not assaulted, according to police.
Anyone that can identify the suspect or has any information about the robbery is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at 843-546-5101.
