Easter weekend closings and events
Federal state and local government offices will be closed Friday for Good Friday.
Various Easter egg hunts are planned for Saturday, including: Easter Egg Hunt, for toddlers through fifth-graders, 4-6 p.m. at Seacoast Vineyard Church, 504 27th Ave. N., Myrtle Beach. 843-445-9000 or seacoastvineyard.com; North Myrtle Beach Community Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m.-noon in city’s McLean Park, 93 Oak Drive, west of Main Street. The event is free. Local Brews, Bands celebrated at House of Blues
On Saturday, the House of Blues will host “Local Brews Local Grooves” beginning at 4 p.m. The cost is $11 advance tickets or $13 day of event.
City to dedicate Heyward Family Park
The city of Myrtle Beach will hold a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday for the Heyward Family Park at 1403 Carver St. The park is home to the Garden of Hope, which features community garden beds. The Heyward family is set to be recognized at the event for its contributions to the city through the park and garden.
Race for the Inlet slated for Saturday
“Race for the Inlet” is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Saturday from Murrells Inlet 2020 preservation group’s office, 4124 U.S. 17 Business, Murrells Inlet, across from the Crazy Sister Marina, with a 5K walk/run. Registration is $30 for the 5K. An 8K run is scheduled, as well, with a cost of $35. For more information, call 843-357-2007 or www.murrellsinletsc.com.
