Mercy Care hosts ‘This Is Your Life’

Lower Cape Fear Hospice Mercy Care honored Brightwater Living resident Joe Dalgliesh, 93, with a “This Is Your Life” celebration July 20.

During the presentation, highlights of Dalgliesh’s military service were shared, as well as his marriage to wife Lois Dalgliesh, and working with his mother in his family’s candy-making business. The celebration shared information about his hobbies including golf, painting and a clock collection. Dalgliesh’s sons also shared memorable antidotes from their father’s life.

“At the age of 93, Joe continues to work and is an inspiration to all of us,” Sarah Dellinger, Mercy Care community outreach coordinator, said.

Dalgliesh was presented with a caricature commemorating a golf trip with his sons to Scotland.
