Cruz receives honor from SWA

The Horry County Solid Waste Authority recently recognized Conway resident Fanny Cruz (left) as the “Caught Green Handed” recipient for the month of March.

“The ‘Caught Green Handed’ recognition is presented monthly to an Horry County resident caught in the act of recycling,” said Esther Murphy, director of recycling and corporate affairs for the SWA. “It’s the Solid Waste Authority’s way of recognizing and thanking citizens who have made the effort to recycle.

Cruz, pictured with her daughter, Candy, and son, Pedro, is a regular recycler at the Landfill Recycling Center and was surprised and honored to receive this recognition.
