Conway student accepted to Oxford University program
Conway resident Michelle Martire, a sophomore English major at Dickinson College, has been accepted to study at Oxford University through its Mansfield College Visiting Student Programme for the 2015-16 academic year. Martire is a graduate of Lauralton Hall High School and is the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Martire of Conway.
Dickinson established a partnership with the Mansfield College in 2012 as part of a broader initiative to expand global opportunities for Dickinson’s most engaged and academically accomplished students. The rigorous, on-campus selection process considers only students with a minimum 3.7 GPA and involves in-person interviews and an in-depth personal essay.
Martire serves as a tutor for Dickinson’s Norman M. Eberly Multilingual Writing Center. At Mansfield, she’ll be creating her own stories while delving into a study of the development of the novel.
