PhotoSpin.com

Sea Haven Inc. has received a one-year grant of $7,500 for the Street Outreach Center/Project Lighthouse. This grant is the second received from the Nora & William Smith Foundation and will help provide services for runaway/homeless youth in Myrtle Beach.

Sea Haven’s mission is to improve the overall well-being and safety of homeless, forgotten youth ages 13-21 by extending a helping hand to those youth whose lives may be in disarray. The Street Outreach Center/Project Lighthouse constitutes the first line of defense for street youth, identifying issues and needs for services, and interacts with those who have issues with abuse, neglect, family disintegration, abandonment, drugs, alcohol, gender identity, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Sea Haven Project Lighthouse operates the only drop-in center in South Carolina, where youth can access showers, laundry facilities, food, counseling and survival assistance. Educational services and informational materials also are provided.
