Conway Medical Center volunteer wins award

Submitted photo

Conway Medical Center volunteer Jim Lannoo was awarded the 2015 Volunteer of the Year on March 5 by Leading Age South Carolina, an association of not-for-profit senior living and care providers.

Lannoo has been a volunteer at Kingston Nursing Center for the past five years. He completed his clinicals for his nursing assistant certification there and then decided to stay on as a volunteer. Now he works closely with the Enrichment Team to organize activities for the residents and accompanies them on outings off campus. Lannoo also helps during meal time to serve food and assist with feeding, and he even picks up other volunteers who need transportation. Lannoo is currently training with pastoral services to become a Chaplin at Kingston.
