Myrtle Beach Bike Rallies

A scaled-down Myrtle Beach motorcycle spring rally culminates along the Grand Strand

A scaled-down Myrtle Beach motorcycle spring rally culminated largely on the South Strand this weekend after being rescheduled from May because of the coronavirus, and bikers are enjoyed festivities at an unusual time of year.

Suck Bang Blow in Murrells Inlet hosted vendors and had live entertainment that including country singer Colt Ford and rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Other bars, such as Beaver Bar, an annual bike week host just over the Horry County line in Georgetown County, hosted vendors, including four food vendors, and planned to hold all festivities outside because of the coronavirus threat, owner Leslye Beaver previously told The Sun News.

Despite oppressive heat and the threat of the coronavirus, a scaled-down version of the Myrtle Beach spring bike rally is being held this weekend with bikers riding to area bars to take part in the annual event. July 17, 2020.

Motorcyclists could be seen traveling other parts of the coast in recent days, though the crowds didn’t appear to add up to the normal numbers seen in the spring and fall rallies as the COVID-19 pandemic lingers.

During the oppressively hot daylight hours on Friday afternoon crowds at the popular Murrells Inlet biker bar Suck Bang Blow were noticeably smaller than rallies past with handfuls of bikers sitting in front of misting fans in an attempt to stay cool. But as the sun set, hundreds of motorcycles roared in to enjoy the nightlife.
