UPDATE: Motorcyclist identified in fatal Highway 501 crash

A motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Kristopher Lee Privette of Myrtle Beach, died Saturday night after a crash on Highway 501.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge Jr. said Privette died at the scene of the wreck from internal injuries sustained in the collision.

S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins said Privette collided with the back of a van on Highway 501 at the Waterway Bridge around 10:30 p.m.

Privette was not wearing a helmet, according to Collins.

No charges are expected to be filed.
