Carolina Country Music Fest kicks off Thursday
The second annual Carolina Country Music Festival comes to town Thursday with headliners like Gary Allan, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line.
Performances will be at the former Pavilion site between 8th and 9th avenues North on Ocean Boulevard. Expect parking and road closures around the concert.

Horry council to hear second reading on 2 a.m. ordinance
Horry County Council will meet Tuesday to vote on the second reading of the proposed business ordinance that would close bars in the county at 2 a.m.
The strict closing-time rule is aimed at cutting back on crime, and states that prolonged consumption of alcoholic beverages leads to dangerous situations.
It would be implemented at bars in unincorporated Horry County on July 12 if approved at third reading.
Monster Jam coming to town Friday and Saturday
The second annual “Monster Jam” will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Myrtle Beach Speedway, 455 Hospitality Lane, off U.S. 501, about three miles north of Myrtle Beach, and just past S.C. 31.
The show will feature Kevin Crocker in Backwards Bob, Gary Porter in Carolina Crusher, Pablo Huffaker in Grave Digger, Roy Pridgeon in Ice Cream Man, Matt Pagliarulo in Jester, Shane Phreed in War Wizard, JR McNeal in Xtermigator, and Bari Musawwir in Zombie.
General admission is $15 for ages 13 and older, $10 for ages 2-12; and free ages 1 and younger. For tickets, order from the box office, or at 800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.
