20-month-old struck and killed by vehicle near Conway

A 20-month-old boy was hit by a vehicle Friday and later died from his injuries.

Landon Galloway was struck at about 8 p.m. Friday by a vehicle backing out of a private driveway on Juniper Bay Road outside of Conway, according to Michelle McSpadden, Horry County deputy coroner.

He later died at Grand Strand Medical Center, McSpadden said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
