Georgetown woman hit and killed by vehicle that was left unattended
A 66-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle at her Georgetown home Wednesday night.
Annie Sue Shelly was killed at her home on Choppee Road about 7:15 p.m., according to Paulette Racliffe, deputy coroner with Georgetown County Coroner’s Office.
Shelly apparently walked out in front of her vehicle, leaving it unattended, and the vehicle then moved forward, hitting and killing her, Radcliffe said.
An autopsy performed Thursday morning showed Shelly’s cause of death to be from trauma she suffered during the crash.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
