Update: Myrtle Beach man killed in single-car crash in Horry County
One person was killed in a single-car crash late Monday afternoon off Legends Road, across from Tanger Outlet on U.S. 501.
James Mello, 34, of Myrtle Beach died from multiple traumatic injuries sustained during the crash, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened about 5:40 p.m.
The driver of the 2006 Cadillac was traveling north on Legends Road when he ran off the right side of the road, over corrected, ran off the left side of the road and hit a ditch then struck a tree, authorities said. He was wearing a seatbelt, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
