A North Myrtle Beach man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Robert Edge Parkway Thursday night, and police are looking for the driver of a dark, Ford sports utility vehicle.
David Michael Palmer, 39, died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries suffered in the crash, according Michelle McSpadden, Horry County deputy coroner.
The crash happened about 10:45 p.m. Thursday on Robert Edge Parkway near the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex, McSpadden said.
North Myrtle Beach Police responded to Robert Edge Parkway near its intersection with S.C. 31, and witnesses said they saw the suspect’s vehicle flee the scene heading southbound on S.C. 31, according to Pat Dowling, North Myrtle Beach spokesman.

Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as being a dark-colored Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition, Dowling said.
