Two construction workers flown to hospitals after falling 30 feet

Two men were rushed to hospital trauma centers by helicopter after falling about 30 feet from scaffolding while doing construction work on a home in Pawleys Island.

Midway Fire Rescue crews responded about 12 p.m. to a home under construction on Springs Avenue in Pawleys Island after the two men fell, Assistant Chief Jim Crawford with Midway Fire Rescue said.

The men, whose ages were unknown, were conscious after the fall, but both suffered serious injuries, Crawford said.

It’s unknown what led to the men’s 30-foot drop, authorities said.
