The 14th Annual Fiddler on the Green Golf Classic, a fundraiser to help keep the opportunities to hear great music and educate young musicians going along the Grand Strand and surrounding areas, will take place on June 11 at the Myrtle Beach National Golf Course.

The fundraiser supports the Long Bay Symphony Orchestra and its Youth Orchestra. Presented by Pyle Financial Services, it offers businesses, organizations and others numerous types and prices of sponsorships to not only help support the orchestras, but also promote themselves, such as a $1,500 Tournament Title that gets the sponsor a half page ad in the Long Bay Symphony program for 2016, two foursomes at the outing and to be named as a sponsor there. Other available opportunities include a Golf Cart sponsorship for $500 and many more with benefits to the sponsors. The list of sponsorship options can be found on the Long Bay Symphony website or by calling the Long Bay Symphony office or other contacts provided at the bottom of this column.

The event will provide a special time for golfers at a cost of $70 per person or $60 per person if you register by May 1. That includes breakfast, beverages and an awards luncheon with door prizes and prizes for the first, second and third place teams. Registration is at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8: 30 a.m. Myrtle Beach National is at 4900 National Drive in Myrtle Beach.

The Long Bay Symphony serves Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick counties by playing classical and contemporary masterpieces. April events include the Youth Orchestra’s Spring Concert and Beethoven and Blue Jeans BBQ.

The Long Bay Symphony Guild is made up of volunteers who work to support the orchestras, provide musical scholarships and welcomes new members.

To register yourself or a team for the Golf Classic, or for more information, contact the Long Bay Symphony office at 843-448-8379, visit it’s website at www.longbaysymphony.com or email Joe Heindlmeyer at Joe.jssafety@gmail.com.
