Update: N.C. man killed in Surfside Beach crash

A vehicle crash Wednesday in Surfside Beach has resulted in one death, according to a release from Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

Chad Dalton, 46, from Kernerville, N.C. died from multiple trauma received in the crash, Fowler said.

Dalton was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center and pronounced dead at 1:07 p.m., Fowler said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and US 17 Business. No other injuries have been reported, and the crash is under investigation by Surfside Beach Police.
