Horry County Fire Rescue on scene of house fire Saturday afternoon

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire Saturday afternoon at 814 Karen Ln. off of Highway 544 in Socastee.

According to Horry County Fire Rescue Cpt. Russell Smith, the majority of the fire was in the attic of the double wide home.

Smith said no one was home or injured during the fire.

Emergency responders were able to put the fire out about 15 minutes after they arrived.

The owner declined Red Cross help because they have another place to stay, and most of the items in the home are salvageable.

Horry County Fire Rescue is investigating the fire.
