Myrtle Beach firefighters: Bal Harbor garage fire may have sparked from vehicle
Firefighters suspect a fire that threatened a home in the Bal Harbor gated community at Grande Dunes Monday afternoon may have sparked from a vehicle in the garage.
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at the Bal Harbor home around 2 p.m. Monday to find “heavy smoke and flames showing from an attached garage.”

“Fire crews immediately began an attack,” said Myrtle Beach Fire spokesman Lt. Christian Sliker. “The fire was out in 10 minutes.”
No injuries were reported during the fire and Sliker said firefighters were able to keep the fire from extending into the home, but flames did destroy contents in the garage.
“It possibly started from a vehicle inside of the garage,” Sliker said.
