Iowa caucuses set for Monday

The first official caucus of the 2016 presidential nomination process begins in Iowa Monday.

Iowa has its first-in-the-nation caucuses beginning at 8 p.m. There are 99 counties in Iowa, accounting for 1,681 precincts.

Polls show front-runners for each of the major parties are Donald Trump for the Republicans and Hillary Clinton for the Democrats.

Super Bowl slated for Sunday

The National Football League’s championship game, Super Bowl 50, will be played shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday on CBS.

The Denver Broncos will represent the AFC and the Carolina Panthers will represent the NFC. The game is one of the most viewed television shows annually.

Valentine Ball set for Saturday

The 20th annual Father/Daughter Valentine Ball, for ages 5-12 and an adult, is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Conway Recreation Center, 1515 Mill Pond Road.

The cost is $25 per couple for Conway residents, otherwise it costs $35, and $15 for additional individuals. The price includes dinner, 5-by-7-inch photo, and wrist corsage for girls. For reservations, call 843-248-1740 or visit www.conwayparksandrecreation.com.

Republican debate scheduled for Saturday

A debate of Republican presidential hopefuls is scheduled for Saturday at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. The debate, which will air at 8 p.m., is sponsored by ABC News.
