Myrtle Beach Fire Department crews were called out to a structure fire early Saturday morning that was caused by a cellphone charger plugged into extension cord.

Crews were called out about 3 a.m. to a home on the south end of Myrtle Beach; and upon arrival, firefighters found the blaze was extinguished by the residents, who showed quick-thinking and took action, officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, and officials said on the department’s Facebook page that it’s important to remember the dangers appliances can pose.
