There’s a nice variety of events taking place over the next few weeks, so there’s sure to be something to please almost everyone. Here’s what’s happening:

Saturday (1/23)

The Neighborhood Services Department is hosting a Community Health and Recreation Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Mary C. Canty Recreation Center. Admission is free. This event includes free health screenings, a chance to visit with health care providers, kids’ activities (swimming, crafts, organized games), raffles, first-aid demonstrations and more.

The L. W. Paul Living History Farm is putting on a Smokehouse Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Re-enactors will demonstrate how foods were preserved and prepared on the farm during the early twentieth century in Horry County. Demonstrations will include smoking and salting meat, cooking on a wood stove, making lye soap, grinding grits, blacksmithing and more.

La Belle Amie Vineyard is hosting a bonfire from noon to 5 p.m. (weather permitting). Admission is free. There will be live music and food and drinks for purchase. You may want to bring a chair.

Monday (1/25)

Beginning today, Chapin Memorial Library will be hosting a free 13-week tai chi mind/body exercise class for beginners from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required (843) 918-1281.

Wednesday (1/27)

Liberty Brewery & Grill is offering two-for-one entrées from a limited menu from 4 p.m. to close. There’s no coupon required. Dine-in only.

Saturday (1/30)

The annual Conway Chocolate Walk will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Conway. Tickets are $18 in advance; $20 the day of the event. Space is limited and tickets usually sell out, so you might want to buy your tickets ASAP at http://conwayalive.com/. During the Chocolate Walk, you can pick up handmade chocolate treats from 30 + participating businesses. Since you may not be able to eat them all in one day, they’ll give you a take-home bag so you can enjoy what you can’t eat later.
