Three injured in Georgetown apartment building fire
Three occupants were injured early Tuesday after a Georgetown apartment building caught fire.
Georgetown City Fire Department was called to battle the blaze at 3:44 a.m. Tuesday at the Yum Yum apartment building on Duke Street, according to Amy Skidmore with the GCFD.
The conditions of the three injured was unavailable Tuesday, but one man suffered some smoke inhalation, Skidmore said.
Georgetown City firefighters were assisted by seven units from Georgetown County Fire and two units from Midway Fire Rescue.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but will likely be determined some time this week, Skidmore said.
The American Red Cross is assisting nine displaced occupants by providing financial assistance for food, clothing, temporary lodging and other essentials.
