Myrtle Beach fire displaces seven five days before Christmas
A fire broke out in a Racepath Street home Sunday morning, displacing seven people, including children, five days before Christmas.
Myrtle Beach Fire Department Lt. Christian Sliker said all seven were able to make it out to safety as firefighters responded to the home around 11 a.m. Sunday.
“When they arrived there was smoke and flames showing from the exterior,” Sliker said. Firefighters had the fire knocked down and under control within 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported during the call and Sliker said the American Red Cross has relocated the family.
Horry County Fire Department provided mutual aid at the scene and county fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
