Carolina Panthers giving thousands to help local high schools with flood relief
Several local high schools are getting thousands of dollars to help their athletic programs recover any losses from the historic statewide flooding in October.
Carolina Panthers Charities is giving out $250,000 in flood relief grants to 19 high schools across the state, many of which are in our area.
The grants are designed to help the program with the replacement or repair of equipment, supplies or athletic infrastructure lost or damaged in the flooding.
Georgetown High School and Kingstree High School received $25,000 from the group, the most awarded to any schools. The grants ranged from $1,500 up to $25,000, according to a news release.
