Dense fog advisory issued for Wednesday morning
Motorist should be careful this morning because a dense fog advisory has been issued for parts of Southeast North Carolina, Horry and Georgetown counties, weather authorities said.
The advisory is in place from 4 to 8 a.m. Wednesday with widespread areas of dense fog, significantly reducing visibility and creating potentially hazardous driving conditions, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N. C.
Visibility will be reduced to less than a quarter mile, and weather authorities recommend taking it slow and using low-beam headlights. Motorists should also leave plenty of breaking distance ahead of them, weather officials said.
