The Sun News calls for Horry’s Angels submissions

The Sun News began a project called Horry’s Angels two years ago that focused on selfless people and groups throughout the Grand Strand, and is bringing it back this year.

The news organization is looking for people who have done extraordinary things in 2015 for others.

Whether they impacted one or impacted many, The Sun News want to focus on people who have gone the extra mile for others.

To nominate someone, send an email to features@thesunnews.com (with Horry’s Angels in the subject line), and be sure to include names and information about why they should be considered for this year’s installment of Horry’s Angels. Our deadline to receive nominees is Dec. 4.

In 2013, The Sun News focused on a church who helped feed members of military families, a man who “pays it forward” by providing extraordinary customer service and helps people from all walks of life find jobs, a woman who volunteers her time making sure elderly people around Horry County are fed and listened to and a 12-year-old Myrtle Beach girl who asked to forgo Christmas gifts to help the homeless.

In 2014, winners included a man who collected 1,500 pounds of food through his homeowner’s association, a Special Olympics coach, and a leader of an area teen program.

This year’s series will run from Dec. 20 to Dec. 25.
