All lanes of Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach reopened after gas leak
A section of Highway 17 northbound in North Myrtle Beach was closed for about 30 minutes Tuesday when construction crews broke a natural gas line.
A construction crew broke a natural gas main near 1416 Highway 17 North around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to Pat Dowling, North Myrtle Beach city spokesman.
The gas line is near Hwy 55 Burgers, Dickey’s Barbeque Pit and other shops in a small section of Coastal North Town Center. Crews capped the leak in about 30 minutes and all lanes of Highway 17 were reopened shortly after, Dowling said.
A small section of road in the Coastal North Town Center was closed until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dowling said.
