Georgetown authorities looking for two men after woman shot

Georgetown authorities are investigating after a gunshot victim was hospitalized and two men are missing.

Georgetown County sheriff’s deputies were called about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to Georgetown Memorial Hospital for the report of a gunshot wound victim, authorities said.

After investigating, sheriff’s deputies determined the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Alphonso Alston III, went to the female victim’s home on the 200 block of Siau Lane in the Sampit Community of Georgetown County and realized a male acquaintance of the victim, Herbert Antonio Deas, was there, according to a press release from Carrie Cuthbertson Weaver, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Police said an altercation occurred between Alston and the victim during which Deas fired one shot, intending to harm Alston, but struck the victim in the back instead, according to police reports.

Family members reported missing Alston missing on Monday. The 25-year-old was last seen leaving the victim’s residence on foot wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, Cuthbertson Weaver said.

Deas, 30, was also last seen at the incident location, police said. His last known address was Siau Lane in Georgetown.
