Aftermath of weekend flooding continues to cause closings, cancellations
Students in Horry County returned to school with a two-hour delay on Wednesday but flood waters and damaged roads have caused Georgetown County officials to close schools for the rest of the week.
The flooding also has caused organizers to reschedule or cancel their events.

Schools
▪ Georgetown County Schools closed Thursday and Friday; employees with 220-day or greater contracts asked to reporter to work as conditions allow
Events
▪ Baconfest scheduled for this weekend at the House of Blues has been canceled and will be re-scheduled for a date in spring
▪ Brookgreen Gardens’ “Harvest Home Weekend” Festival rescheduled to Saturday-Sunday
▪ “Calabash Big Sweep” will be Oct. 17
▪ Georgetown County Family Justice Center has rescheduled its Second Annual Walk Against Domestic Violence Event to Saturday
▪ Oktoberfest at The Market Common will be Oct. 23-24
▪ Surfside Beach Family Festival will be Oct. 17
