Heavy rain and flooding lead to closures, reschedulings Monday along the Grand Strand
The Grand Strand was doused with rain for much of the weekend, leading to flooding and road closures throughout most of the area.
Organizers have canceled or rescheduled planned events activities.

Schools
▪ Horry County Schools will be closed to students and employees Monday
▪ Georgetown County Schools will be closed to students and employees on Monday
▪ Coastal Carolina University is closed Monday
▪ Horry County Disabilities and Special Needs offices, day program facilities and the New Horizons HASCI Center will be closed Monday
▪ Horry-Georgetown Technical College is closed Monday
▪ Georgetown School of Arts and Sciences is closed Monday
▪ Waccamaw High School’s home football game against Mullins, rescheduled from Friday to Monday, is postponed. New date has not yet been decided
Government
▪ Horry County Government offices are closed Monday
▪ The state Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Circuit Court and Family Court are closed Monday
▪ Horry County Circuit Court hearings canceled for Monday and all jurors are asked to report to duty on Tuesday
▪ Horry County Recycling Centers will operate Monday on a one hour delay, opening at 8 a.m.
▪ Georgetown County will open on a delay at 10 a.m.
▪ Beck Recreation Center in Georgetown, Waccamaw Regional Recreation Center in Pawleys Island and Andrews Recreation Center will be closed to the general public on Monday
Transportation
▪ Coast RTA suspended all service as of 3 p.m. Sunday and will not operate on Monday
Retail
▪ Myrtle Beach mall closed early Sunday at 2 p.m.
Events
▪ Coastal Carolina University Fall Choral Concert: A Song of Peace scheduled for Sunday evening will be rescheduled to a later date

If you need to travel on Hwy 501 near Millpond Road the following diversion in place:
Southbound traffic will turn right onto El Bethel road and travel to Hwy 378 and turn left and follow back to Hwy 501. Northbound traffic will be turned left at 16th Avenue and travel to Hwy 378 (Wright Blvd) and turn right. Then they will travel to El Bethel Road and turn right and follow back to Hwy 501 and turn left to travel northbound.
