Taste, Oktoberfest, Chilympics slated for this weekend

The 32nd annual Taste of the Town will be from 4-10 p.m. Tuesday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Taste of the Town, in its 32nd year, has food samples from more than 50 vendors offering tapas-style tastings from their menu. The event is presented by St. Andrew Catholic School. Tickets cost $5 in advance and can be bought from any HTC location, or at St. Andrew Catholic School and church. Admission tickets are $6 at the door. Children 14 and under admitted free with adult.

Food tickets are $1 each and sold at the event.

Oktoberfest on the Boardwalk will be in Myrtle Beach from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.

The two-day event benefits Special Olympics and features beer, food, games for the kids, crafts, a petting zoo and more.

The 15th annual Lip Rippin’ Chilympics Chili Cookoff will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday on the south end of Murrells Inlet at the Hot Fish Club Gazebo and Morse Park Landing.

Events rescheduled for this weekend after rain cancellations Several events were canceled last weekend due to rain, and were rescheduled for next weekend. Brookgreen Gardens’ Harvest Home Weekend Festival was rescheduled to Saturday and Sunday. Log on to www.brookgreen.org/HarvestHome.html for more information. The second annual Walk Against Domestic Violence for the Georgetown County Family Justice Center was rescheduled to Saturday. Horry County to vote on new rules for special events

Horry County Council will vote on a proposal that would allow seasonal events such as county fairs, haunted houses, circuses and Christmas villages to run for up to 30 days. Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 1301 Second Ave., Conway.
